An employer who falsified immigration documents and misled
Immigration NZ about his employees was sentenced to five months home
detention.
Penalties have now been imposed on the employer including
$132,000 in unpaid wages and $120,000 penalties.
The Labour Inspectorate investigation uncovered that
employees were having their wages unlawfully deducted and were working long
shifts where the hours were not recorded so they were not paid the wages they
were due.
