An employer has been convicted of various offences
including providing employees false and misleading information on their rights
and failing to pay minimum wages. Two
workers were underpaid about $14,000 over a two year period.
The employer was sentenced to five months home detention
by the District Court. Further
proceedings in the Employment Relations Authority are due to be heard shortly.
