As of 1 April 2016, the
minimum wage for adult workers will increase from $14.75 to $15.25 per hour.
This 50 cent increase is expected to directly benefit approximately 152,700
workers and will increase wages throughout New Zealand’s economy by $75 million
per year.
The starting-out and training hourly
minimum wage rates will also increase from $11.80 to $12.20 per hour.
