Prison worker who gave a key to inmate correctly dismissed…
Unsurprisingly, the Employment Relations
Authority has upheld the dismissal of a prison social worker who gave an inmate
a key that was used to try to escape.
The employee denied handing over the key but
the ERA found there was sufficient evidence to support the employer’s decision.
Dismissal then became inevitable due to the
security risk if the worker remained employed.
